About
I’m interested in the structural biology and genetic diversity of our immune systems, host-pathogen coevolution, and how to build vaccines that work better for everybody. I am a visiting scientist in Jeremy Brown’s phylogenetics lab at Louisiana State University, focusing on human-Hepatitis A coevolution and the evolutionary history of papain-like proteases.
When I’m not in the lab, you can find me doing portrait photography, or working on my educational board game about vaccine engineering. My words have shown up in the Durham Beat, Transpositions, and Scientific American. My photography has shown up in Teen Vogue, Triangle Guide, them.us and The Equation.
